ACME, Mich., May 5, 2008 -- Grand Traverse Resort & Spa has entered into an agreement with the Pinnacle Development Group of Scottsdale, AZ, owners of LochenHeath in Williamsburg, to operate The Club at LochenHeath golf course as a public course during the 2008 season.

“We’re excited to open The Club at LochenHeath to public play this season,” said Grant Channing, Grand Traverse Resort & Spa’s Executive Vice President & General Manager.  “It is a scenic, challenging course, with beautiful views of the Bay, and this is an excellent opportunity for residents, visitors, and golf groups to enjoy the course.”

Under the terms of the agreement, the Resort will staff and manage all golf course and pro shop operations and the Resort will retain all revenue generated by public golf course play, pro shop sales, and cart fees from LochenHeath members.

An exact opening date for the 2008 season has not yet been established, nor have exact green fees, however it is expected that the course will be open before Memorial Day and green fees will be the same as those for The Bear and The Wolverine at Grand Traverse Resort & Spa.

The Club at LochenHeath opened in 2001 as a public course, and has been private since 2004.  Designed by Steve Smyers, internationally acclaimed architect of Wolf Run Golf Club in Indianapolis, Old Memorial in Tampa, Southern Dunes in Haines City, Florida and Chart Hills Golf Club in London, The Club at LochenHeath is evocative of overseas links courses with fairways lined by native grasses and greens surrounded by deep bunkers.

The course as originally designed was 7,049-yard, par-71 layout .  It is a unique links-style design that has bentgrass greens, and views of the Bay on many holes.  In 2007 the course was lengthened to a 7,252-yard, par-72 layout.  Additional information about the golf course’s features and a hole-by-hole description is available at www.lochenheath.com/golf-amenities/course-tour/

Accolades that The Club at LochenHeath golf course has received include
* Golf magazine Top 10 New Courses - Golf Magazine
* Golfweek magazine Seventh-Best Course in Michigan
* Fodor’s Golf Digest’s Best Places to Play called LochenHeath “a near perfect golf course” to play.

The Club at LochenHeath is located along US-31 North in Williamsburg, just north of Grand Traverse Resort & Spa, at 7951 Turnberry Circle, Williamsburg, MI 49690.  For tee times and information, call 231-534-6000.
