The Bayshore Marathon starts at 7:15 AM on the grounds of Northwestern Michigan College, then winds through one mile of residential neighborhoods. The majority of the race will follow the waterfront along the East Arm of Grand Traverse Bay including the beautiful Birchwood Drive, East Shore Road, Center Road (M-37) and Bluff Road. The course is flat, 100% paved and shaded along much of the route.

Grand Traverse Resort and Spas own Head Golf Professional, Scott Hebert will lead the one-hour clinic at the Resort Golf Academy. Hebert is the 2008 PGA Professional National Champion. He is a six-time Michigan Open Champion. The clinic will provide a video analysis for each participant to keep and will encompass the entire golf swing. The tenth annual Traverse City Film Festival will be held July 29-August 3, 2014. The festival brings in filmmakers from all around the world to Northern Michigan and has quickly become one of the largest film festivals in the Midwest. 2011 generated more than 128,000 admissions. Each year, the festival also presents classic movies free of charge on a giant, inflatable outdoor screen overlooking Grand Traverse Bay in the Open Space Park at dusk. This year the event has added film screenings ON the bay, with films shown on a boat in Grand Traverse Bay.
