The half marathon will follow the same course as the marathon, turning around at the 6.55 mile mark. Warm up for the 2014 Bell's Beer Iceman Cometh Challenge Mountain Bike Race with a practice ride guided by Einstein Cycles. There is no cost to participate in this event.Timber Ridge Resort will provide shuttle service to the Kalkaska Trailhead for $20 per person. Contact Timber Ridge Resort (231-947-2770) for parking and shuttle information. The 29-mile guided ride will begin at 9:00 a.m.

  • This is a group outing so Resort guests, local riders and out-of-town riders are welcome to participate
  • The purpose of this ride is for course familiarization and practice. It is not a race.
  • Ride will be led by Einstein Cycles (lead rider in front and back)
  • Bike tech service from Einstein Cycles will be available at trailhead prior to 9:00 a.m. start.
  • Approximate ride time is 4-5 hours.

"Gears + Beers" Bell's Beer Iceman Cometh Post-Practice Party

Saturday evening Gears + Beers party which will feature Bell’s pints, Mountain bike gear and Iceman race tips from Einstein Cycles and live music performed by The Scott Pellegrom Trio. The event will run from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Sponsored by Grand Traverse Resort and Spa, the Gears + Beers party is named so as there is a practice ride for the Iceman Cometh Challenge mountain bike race Saturday morning (led by Einstein Cycles) and Gears + Beers is the post party celebration. You do not need to participate in the ride to attend the Gears + Beers party. The party is open to the public and ALL Resort guests.

 Tickets to attend the Gears + Beers party are $15 per adult and include 2 drink tickets (full pint pours) and a commemorative pint glass. Additional drink tickets are available for $5 each. Food is also available for an additional cost. Must be 21 or older to attend.
