The event will present Riesling in a fresh and fun manner that showcases the range and qualities of some of the finest local, national and international offerings at “The Bar of 100 Rieslings” a pop-up wine bar staffed by Riesling professionals. The eleventh annual Traverse City Film Festival will be held July 28-August 2, 2015. The festival brings in filmmakers from all around the world to Northern Michigan and has quickly become one of the largest film festivals in the Midwest. 2011 generated more than 128,000 admissions. Each year, the festival also presents classic movies free of charge on a giant, inflatable outdoor screen overlooking Grand Traverse Bay in the Open Space Park at dusk. This year the event has added film screenings ON the bay, with films shown on a boat in Grand Traverse Bay.

Leelanau Peninsula has become well-known for its Riesling and other cool-climate white varietals and blends. What is often overlooked, however, are the high-quality red wines being grown in the region.

To help get beneath the surface, the Leelanau Peninsula Wine Trail hosts a free and fun event to explore and discover great red wines of Leelanau Peninsula. The Hunt for the Reds of October takes place the weekend of October 24-26, 2014. For the entire weekend, each of 23 participating wineries offer a free tasting of a diverse red wines: big and bold Cabernet Francs and Merlots, aromatic and spicy Pinot Noirs and many more. The event is free to all who know the secret launch code: “The hunt is on!”

Join us at Grand Traverse Resort and Spa for our second Great Beerd Run- a 5k fun run designed to celebrate all things Beer and Beard. This is an untimed run with on course beer tastings provided by Beards Brewery, Short's Brewery and Right Brain Brewery.


There will also be a post-race Beer Tent featuring a Best Beard Contest, race grub, music, and beer. The Best Beard contest will feature prizes for both the best "Natural" and "Assisted" beard.
