Beer & Wine Festivals
With an ideal climate for growing hops and grapes, the greater Traverse City region is host to a number of beer and wine festivals.
Traverse City Beer Week
Traverse City is best known as a four-season outdoor adventure destination with a lively culinary and wine scene, but in the last couple of years it has also emerged as a major center of craft brewing.
(Draft magazine named it one of Americas' "Three Emerging Beer Towns" and The Travel Channel listed it among the "Top Seven Beer Destinations in North America!")
Traverse City Beer Week showcases a series of events highlighting this fabulous craft beer scene. From November 13th to the 20th, there are seven days of craft beer tastings, dinners and workshops. Get a pint or a sample, meet with brewers and brewery representatives and learn more about our incredible beer state of Michigan.
At Grand Traverse Resort and Spa we are celebrating with two amazing beer themed events.
The Great Beerd Run
Join us at Grand Traverse Resort and Spa for our third Great Beerd Run - a 5k fun run designed to celebrate all things Beer and Beard. This is an untimed run with on course beer tastings provided by Beards Brewery, Short's Brewery and Right Brain Brewery.
The North vs South Brewery Battle
Join us for the North vs South Brewery Battle with Short's Brewing Company and Atwater Brewery! Five battle stations with brews from each brewery and food to pair. Brewery representatives will be present to talk about each beer as they battle for beer supremacy.
Spring Sip & Savor
The annual Spring Sip & Savor wine trail event is a chance to enjoy wine and food pairings at 22 participating Leelanau Peninsula wineries each May.

During Blossom Day the nine Wineries of the Old Mission Peninsula open their doors for the public to sample their unreleased wines.
Barrel and Reserve wines are showcased in addition to each winery's standard list. The ticket price includes a souvenir glass and tasting at all nine Old Mission Wineries. Participants can enjoy the beauty of the blossoms all weekend long.
Tickets are $25 in advance or $30 each and available at any Old Mission Winery on the days of the event.
