Bring on the Beer and Beards
Traverse City Beer Week is the ultimate celebration of craft brewing—a full week of beer-themed events throughout town. From special release brews to a brewery battle, beer lovers will be in hop heaven.
Start the week off on the right foot (pun intended) with the Great Beerd Run. The 5K fun run takes place on the Resort grounds, with three tasting stations from local breweries along the way.
Are you a serious runner? More of a jogger (or a yogger, as Ron Burgundy would say)? Maybe a walker? Or are you just a beer drinker who wants to burn off some calories? As long as you’re 21 and up, the Great Beerd Run is for you.
Short’s Brewing Company of Bellaire, Right Brain Brewery of Traverse City, and Beards Brewery of Petoskey are our beverage sponsors, featuring a diverse line-up of brews to suit everyone’s tastes. Right Brain also provides the race’s iconic keg couch, which must be seen to be believed!
The Broom Closet Boys will be playing the after party. This is their second year, and we just had to get them back after they brought down the house in 2018!
The Great Beerd Run is a fun run 5K that combines two of our favorite things: beer and beards. Although the race is untimed, we offer epic prizes to our fastest male and female runners.
We will also award prizes for the best beard. If you can grow your own, enter the Natural category. If you can’t, join the creative winners of years past who have used yard, bread, bottle caps, and more to win the Assisted category.

The Resort’s 5K course travels across the property, does a brief jaunt on to Lautner Road, and then loops back to our yellow Pavilion tent. The full map is available here.
Racers will gather at the Pavilion tent on Saturday, November 9, for a 10:00 a.m. start. The after party follows with food, drinks, and dancing.
Why not! Register here, and come see how fun a beer run can be.
