^{Aerie Restaurant & Lounge}

Enjoy the beautiful panoramic view of northern Michigan from a candlelit window seat at our fine-dining restaurant and scratch cocktail lounge 16 floors high in the Resort’s Tower. Many couples have made a forever memory at Aerie Restaurant & Lounge, riding the elevator up as a couple and riding back down engaged. Pop the question during a one-of-a-kind dining experience with local ingredients and an excellent wine selection.

Mission Point Lighthouse

Located on the tip of the nearby Old Mission Peninsula, this historic lighthouse is a great spot to propose in Traverse City. Enjoy a winding, scenic drive past vineyards and cherry orchards as you make your way up the peninsula surrounded by the Grand Traverse bays on either side. When you run out of road, you’re there. The lighthouse is a beautiful setting, but if you’d like more privacy, it’s easy to escape the crowd and find a secluded spot along the water.

^{Pyramid Point Scenic Overlook}

This is arguably the crown jewel of Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore. This breathtaking overlook a mile off M-22 is a short 0.6-mile climb on a well-marked trail from the parking lot. You also have the option to loop the trail for a 2.6-mile hike. Once you arrive at the stunning Lake Michigan lookout, there are several “social trails” that weave there along the bluff if you want to separate yourself from the crowd before you pop the question. Don’t lose the engagement ring in the sand!

^{Look Out Number Nine}

This overlook is off the Pierce Stocking Scenic Drive in Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore. Since this road is only open from spring to fall, this isn’t a great winter option, unless you’re willing to ski or snowshoe on the road. The observation deck that cantilevers over the dunes is a beautiful spot to take a knee with a panoramic view of Lake Michigan.
